Drawn to visual storytelling since childhood, Alex Gallitano picked up his first camera at age nine. He graduated from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, where he was mentored by Geoff Erb, ASC. At the prestigious FAMU Academy in Prague, Alex studied with Czech masters and immersed himself in European styles and techniques. Between 2013 and 2014, Alex briefly returned to NYU as adjunct faculty, teaching cinematography in the undergraduate Advanced Television Production program.
Alex's narrative work has screened at festivals around the world. His most recent feature film, "Bear With Us", starring Christy Carlson Romano and Cheyenne Jackson, premiered at the Gasparilla International Film Festival, where it won the Audience Award for Best Narrative Feature. It has since won several awards, including four Jury Prizes and two nominations for Best Cinematography.
